  • Attended Southern High School in Durham, North Carolina. Was senior class president, a cheerleader, a member of SADD/MADD, Student Government, and Mu Alpha Theta.
  • Graduated high school in 1999 as a North Carolina Scholar and Honor Student.
  • Graduated from Elon University in 2003. Served as the Vice President of the Student Union Board, and as an officer of the Accounting Society. Marsh was also a Jefferson Pilot Business Fellow, an honor in which few students are selected for.

Biography

Candyce Marsh, is a well-established competitor who has successfully positioned herself to grow as a new leader within professional motorsports. Her interest in motorsports began at an early age, as her father was a drag racer. In 1998 at seventeen years old Marsh launched her entrance into the motorsports arena by making her debut on the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) national event tour in the Hot Rod Class,

After completing just two seasons in the Hot Rod class, she was able to gain a substantial amount of driving experience and increase her knowledge of racing. These successes lead her towards chartering a path of establishing a name for herself motorsports. During the 2000-racing season she transitioned into the Top Sportsman class, a transition necessary to propel her career within professional motorsports.

The 2001 season proved to be a year of tremendous opportunities for Marsh as well. She was able to participate in her first divisional race in Top Sportsman at Virginia Motor sports Park where she progressed to the quarterfinals. In addition, in 2002, during her national event début at the Holley Spring Nationals, she qualified forty-six out of forty-eight cars. Her accomplishments in 2001 and 2002 allowed Marsh to continue to build a career in motorsports.

Using the momentum, she had established in the previous years, Marsh was determined to be a fierce competitor for the upcoming 2003 season. Therefore, she expanded her race program to include a state of the art Electronic Fuel Injected engine prepared by AC Delco sponsored Pro-Modified standout Harold Martin. The off-season was busy with research, development, and testing to ensure Marsh would be competitive for the World Championship.

Committed to continuing the success of 2003, the 2004 racing season had unlimited potential for Marsh. She qualified in the top eight cars at each race with elapsed times in the six-second zone. Additionally, the team advanced through many rounds of eliminations. Marsh’s driving ability has leveraged her among the most competitive drivers in the Top Sportsman class.

The 2005 race season served as yet another success milestone for Candyce Marsh. Marsh entered the 2005-racing season eager to continue her quest to become a leader with professional motorsports. Well known manufacturer, Bar’s Products, maker of Bar’s Leaks, was the team’s primary sponsor. On the racetrack Marsh and her team set the bar among her fellow competitors by qualify in the number 1 position at two national events, a feat no other driver did during the 2005-racing season. Additionally, Marsh generated substantial exposure off the racetrack by being featured in newspapers and the evening new across the country. While Marsh was pleased with her performance, she has higher ambitions to compete in a professional category called Pro Modified.

In addition to Marsh’s numerous accomplishments in the motor sports arena, she also accomplished numerous educational goals. In May of 2003, Marsh graduated with two Bachelor’s of Science degrees in Accounting and Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Elon University in Burlington, North Carolina. During her years of study, she served as the Vice President of the Student Union Board, and as an officer of the Accounting Society. Marsh was also a Jefferson Pilot Business Fellow, an honor in which few students are selected for. Additionally, she graduated with a 3.265 grade point average. In May of 2005, she continued her education and graduated from North Carolina A&T State University with her master’s degree in industrial technology. All of her accomplishments in education demonstrated her ability to successfully master a balance between her two passions, education, and drag racing.

Thrilled with the opportunities of the 2006-racing season, Candyce Marsh moves closer to etching her name in racing history
