FEBRUARY 2007 – STONEVILLE, NC – Candyce Marsh recalls being the first person at the Department of Motor Vehicles the day she received her driver's license. It was her 16th birthday.

JANUARY 16, 2007 – RALEIGH, NC – Candyce Marsh is the first African-American woman to compete as a professional drag racer, "It's been my dream since I was young," she said. Marsh always knew she wanted to be a professional drag racer. But, she never realized she would make history when she did. "I didn't realize my involvement in racing would be historical, it's a great honor, but it's not the reason I started racing," she said.
