Candyce Marsh Racing

Journal 11.25.06

Hi Everybody,

It has been a while since my last entry. I have been busy, but it was been one of the most exciting times in my life.

I made my professional début in October at the UTI World Finals. The saying is true there is no I in Team. On our first qualifying pass the clutch slipped a lot and that hurt of our ET. We burned a few pistons. My guys, Maurice Bea, Chris Cheeks, Dion Allen and Gary Cox are definitely ‘The A Team’. They worked hard (most of the night) to get the engine serviced after our first round of qualifying. Our engine issues followed all weekend. Nevertheless, as I have said before it is a tremendous experience to compete against some of the best drivers in the world.

I was featured in the following media outlets: Click on the links below.

My marketing team Kimberley Brown and Shelley Willingham-Hinton have done an great job. I am thankful for there hard work and diligence.

A lot of family and friends came to the race to show there support. It was great to see them there, showing there support. Those that were not able to make it called to send their support. It really meant a lot to me, my team, and my parents.

Since we are in the ‘off season’ things have not slowed down! I went to the SEMA Show to sign autographs at the Auto Week Magazine booth. That was a great experience! Las Vegas is a great city.

I spent a week in Atlanta at an Executive Leadership Conference hosted by the National Organization for Diversity in Sales and Marketing. I meet a lot of great people during the conference. The NODSM had a black tie event, Inclusion…., where Dr. Benjamin Chavis was the key note speaker. The organization gave me an award for being the first African-American female professional drag racer. Click here to check out my presentation.

We have update some pictures, so click out the photo gallery.
